An update from Careers and VET

There is never a dull day in the Careers and VET office, and the next few weeks will definitely ensure that this continues. We have a very busy time ahead of us with all 61 Senior Accredited students going out on Work Experience from Monday 25 to Friday 29 June. If your son is a Senior Accredited student, please ensure that he is starting to coordinate this work placement. If he is having difficulty confirming an organisation who is able to take him on, then he needs to come and speak to us here as soon as possible so that we can help him out. The paperwork which is needed to be completed is available in our office or online on the St Edmund’s College Career website. This is also a great resource for boys and parents to use when considering future career pathways.

Tertiary students also have a busy time ahead researching possible universities and university courses in advance of selecting their preferences for their UAC applications. UAC applications will be open in Term 3. Students should also keep an eye out for University Early Entry Programs which are currently open for applications or will open soon.

There is now a Careers Facebook page where we will communicate large amounts of information to students in real time so that you can all have immediate access to Careers information. This will include job opportunities, University information and reminders about application dates and information nights. We would encourage everyone to start following the Facebook page Careers – St Edmunds College if you would like to receive these important updates.
