As we are now drawing to the end of the semester, exam time is now upon us. With exams comes high levels of stress as the student of the college attempt to fit enough study into their already busy lives to achieve their desired grades. Despite the importance of grades in our future, it is far more important to maintain a healthy mind.

Keeping a healthy mind requires a great balance in activities, especially in stressful times like exams. I find that sport is a great outlet for excess stress, and allows me to work harder in school, free of distractions. If you find yourself struggling with stress, check up on the little things you do. Things like getting plenty of sleep, exercise, and connecting with others go a long way to relieving built-up stress and anxiety.

In the holidays, seek out and make the most of every possible opportunity; go out with your mates, kick back and relax, read a book, or play sport. There is a time and a place for mucking around, and getting things done. If we get these times muddled up, then we’ll find ourselves playing catchup in our break times, and nobody wants that. That being said, be sure to maintain a good work ethic and take a short break if you need to. The time for holidays is almost upon us, so work hard these last few days and be sure you have earned it.

Aside from exams, we have also just finished up the house fundraisers for this term. Beginning at the start of the term with Clancy House’s sausage sizzle and ending Friday week 7 with Haydon House’s pizza deals. We have seen a wide variety of activities led by the captains and senior students of each house, from Mario Kart to mufti-days, the effort and enthusiasm of the student body have helped raise valuable funds and build community spirit. It was fantastic to see the students all get around and support the college.

Well done to everyone so far, keep up the hard work, and good luck.
