Captain’s Corner: Week 5, Term 1, 2018

The inspiring young men of St Edmund’s College have seen a busy start to 2018, with the opening ceremonies now completed, camps finished, and unit outlines now published things aren’t going to slow down.

The dust has settled, blossoming with a nice vibe around the College. In the opening weeks, students have adapted well to the changes in classrooms and timetables and the Year 7’s are beginning to feel at home within the senior sector of the school.  Mr Zavone, has helped encourage this with his open-door policy and influential presence he already has on our College.

A new year brings new opportunities, these opportunities come in droves here at St Edmund’s for those who are willing, willing to “pay a price”. To work hard. The first opportunity where students really got involved was the retreats and house camps, these excursions were full of chances for the boys to unwind, make new friends and extend their journey into becoming a proud Eddies man.

The student leadership team consists of many Year 12’s we are looking to place great emphasis on an ‘inclusive community’, one of the four Edmund Rice Touchstones on which this school is based. Our vision is to unify our school, to make St Edmund’s College a place where the students are proud to be called not just an Eddies boy, but an Eddies man.
