Careers and Vocational Education & Training

The VET (Vocational Education & Training) section of the school has had a red-hot start for the year, with 10 students across year 10, 11 and 12 commence their chosen field of specialization with an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA). Term 1 also qualified 16 students in Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) and Asbestos Awareness. Students keen to find out more information about securing an ASBA should book a time to see Mr Hausen.

Any year 12 Accredited students who are keen to take advantage of participating in Work Experience at the end of the semester are urged to book a time to meet with Mrs Jarman to begin exploring the many options that are available.

Year 12 Tertiary students are beginning to navigate the many options in front of them as they complete College.  ANU applications are open and need to be submitted by 24 May 2021.  In Elevated Learning this week we will be exploring all things UAC (University Admission Centre) and ensuring that ANU applications are on track for submission.

Work Experience continues to be an ongoing program where students are able to explore different options to see what jobs are actually like in reality.  If you have an interest in trying some Work Experience please make an appointment to see Mrs Jarman.

Part-time and casual jobs are still plentiful, with a number of opportunities available. Here are just some of the jobs available in our area, click on the links for more information.
