Clancy House Report – Term 1, 2018

Clancy has had a great start to the year with the boys participating in a number of school activities such as the school camp and swimming carnival that promote leadership, friendship, team building and life skills.  These activities provided the opportunity for staff and students to build strong, positive relationships that benefit everyone in the classroom.

For our annual House Camp, we travelled to the NSW Sport and Recreation Centre in Jindabyne. There was some apprehensiveness about the new venue but this soon dissipated when the boys where attempting new challenges and stepping out of their comfort zone.

Opportunities to take time away from the rigours of school life come all too infrequently and the students jumped at the opportunity to climb, swing, jump and complete team building activities over the three days. This was also a great opportunity for the tutors and myself to connect with the students, thus being rewarding and ultimately making a stronger House Group.

This was a great stepping stone into the swimming carnival where all boys displayed house pride by enthusiastically participating in all aspects of the carnivals especially the theme of the house.
