The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (Duke of Ed) is a positive and rewarding challenge of self-discovery. By undertaking four core activities (Skill, Physical Recreation, Voluntary Service and Adventurous Journey), participants are equipped and empowered to achieve their personal best, take ownership of their own goals and life choices and become actively engaged within their community and workforce.
In 2020, St Edmund’s College ran two adventurous journeys through Namadgi National Park and Kosciusko National Park, hiking the three tallest mountains in Australia. Students overcame adversity, built teamwork and leadership skills while making close friends across year groups.
