Student Services Information

Early departures:

Students cannot sign out or leave the College without parent/carer consent.

If your son needs to leave school early – whether from sickbay, for an appointment, or any other reason – please come directly to Student Services, not Reception to collect your son. All students must sign in and out through Student Services when arriving late or leaving early. If you attend Reception to pick up your son, our staff will redirect you to Student Services.

Student Services is located via the driveway after the main entrance. As you enter the gates, the gym will be on your left and Student Services on your right.

Please note that the person collecting your son must be listed as an approved contact. If someone other than yourself, or one of your emergency contacts, will be collecting your son, the College needs to be notified ahead of time.

Whenever possible, please notify Student Services in advance if your son needs to be collected early. Contact can be made via phone: 02 6239 0694 or email: studentservices@sec.act.edu.au .We understand that unexpected situations arise, and we are always happy to accommodate these. However, for general appointments or known commitments, please contact us ahead of time.

Collecting your son from sickbay:

If your son is unwell and needs to go home, please arrange to collect him from Student Services within 30 minutes (unless your travel time is unavoidably longer, which we understand).

Please ensure the school has up-to-date contact details for at least one emergency contact who can collect your son if we are unable to reach you, or if you are unable to come in to pick up your son.

Contacting your son during the school day:

Students are not permitted to use their phones during school hours. For this reason, please do not contact your son directly to inform him you are collecting him. If you need to pass on a message or advise him of a pickup, simply call or email Student Services and we will ensure he receives the information. Please also ask your son not to text/call you directly if he is unwell. The boys are to attend Student Services so that we can triage and log the details and then contact home if needed.

Reception Hours – Duty of Care:

Please note that Reception is open from 8am to 5pm each day. The school’s duty of care is between these hours. Please do not drop your son to school any earlier than 8am, as there is no active supervision prior to this time nor is there supervision after 5pm.
