Congratulations to the 2018 First XI Football (Soccer) team who won the Div 2 Premiership.
The season started with the team going on a six-game winning streak both home and away, with notable wins away at Cooma and Queanbeyan. The run came to an end however away at Majura against a well-prepared team in horrible conditions. The team rallied after this disappointment and continued through the season losing only one more game and maintaining an unbeaten record at home, building an unbeatable fortress on Standen Oval.
The season proved to be a success as we walked away with the Premiership. This held a large significance for most of the team who are in Year 12 and was their last season representing St Edmund’s College. The team showed a great deal of bravery and strength to finish the year off with a trophy, adding to the path that is slowly being carved out by the Eddies football community which will continue to grow and develop respectful young men of skill and ability.
The 2018 15 player squad includes Aidan Rhodes, Matt Brown, Will Fernance, Sam Gordon, Nic Martiniello, Carl Pastrello, Jason Howes, Joey Krinas, Brayden Bink, Fin Bellas, Ishe Chitsungo, Raikva Sabharwal, Aidan Misner, Nick Moule and Tim Brunton.
