Preseason games
Woden Weston hosts the Stella Lightning Round
We have a lightning round on the weekend of 13th/14th April at Mawson playing fields. The draw will be sent this week but it will involve our U12, U14 and U15 teams. We have not participated in this before so it is an exciting opportunity. Details of the draw will be released early next week- watch this space for more!
EREA Football Tournament
As you may already know as well, we participate in the annual EREA tournament. This is usually for U18 and U16 teams, however this year we have just one opens team participating in Brisbane. This tour has been organised by Jonathan Hall. This will be during the first weekend of the holidays, 13th/ 14th April. Mr Hall has planned a full itinerary to not only keep the boys on their toes but also keep them keen for the games each day!
MARSEC
We also have our annual MARSEC – this is what we hosted last year, a Marist Vs. St Edmund’s College competition. All year groups participate in friendly matches, while the First XI are playing for the shield. This will be on the final Sunday of the holidays, April 28th and will be held at Marist. We would love for as many people from the Eddies community as possible to cheer us on the opposition’s grounds!
Future Meetings
We have a coaches and managers meeting on Monday of week 10 (April 8th) COACHES AND MANAGERS are to meet from 5pm with a committee meeting to follow at 6pm. All managers will receive the kit they require for the season.
All are more than welcome to attend- the more the merrier. Come and meet the parents and volunteers behind football at Eddies! Our committee has recently been re-elected and have a fresh and exciting vision for football at Eddies. Our new Club President, Mr Jason Augur has written a wonderful article introducing himself and his vision which is available in this issue of the vortex.
Our Season- where to find information
Our season kicks off on May 4th (May the force be with us) and the draw will be released shortly. You will be able to access the fixtures and announcements by using the TEAM APP here https://eddiesfootball.teamapp.com/
We do try to post as many things as possible on the College facebook page, however, we also have a football facebook page which is updated regularly, accessible here https://www.facebook.com/groups/stedmundsfootball/
