Football – Finding the spring in our step

With spring around the corner, we can see that our boys are fighting hard week by week. Injury and sickness have hit every team in the past month or so which leaves many teams low on numbers but high with hopes, mustering energy to ensure a spring is their step. As the season is coming near to an end, it can seem easier to stop wanting to play or to not give our best.

With the end in sight, I strongly encourage our boys to persevere and honour the commitment to their team as best as they can. A team is a collection of diverse young men, with different goals, aspirations, temperaments and circumstances. Yet, they are all in it together, with the same goal while representing our College. Our coaches work their hardest to ensure that the boys work well together and this is practised at training and comes to fruition on game day.  Our coaches and managers give up their time each week to work with the teams and families to ensure that the football experience for our boys is positive– I cannot thank them enough for their contribution. Without the commitment of individuals and families, football could not be what it is.

Thank you all families and boys who have committed to their team this season- I know it has not always been easy but your support has been invaluable. With only a few rounds to go, let’s work together to get our boys on the field and supporting their peers.
