Library Books & Textbooks

Library overdue notices are sent alternately to the email of both students and parents. Student emails can be accessed through Office 365 with username@student.stedmunds.act.edu.au and their Canvas password. The notices are a reminder of the books that the students have on loan.

Canvas Library page

The Library page on Canvas contains a great number of resources that are available to support the students as they work through their assignments. St Edmund’s subscribes to a wide selection of specialist databases. These resources are invaluable in finding quality information quickly as they have been curated by experts especially targeting the needs of school and College students. Databases such as EBSCO and Infobase provide excellent, balanced points of view, useful for not only assignment work, but also debating, AST preparation etc, while products such as World Book Online and Infobase eBooks are quality, up-to-date resources.

It is easy to develop an accurate bibliography using the SLASA Online Bibliography Generator which is available through the Library page on Canvas. Templates are providing for many types of resources that are used when researching a topic. You input the required information and your bibliography is generated using that information. Support to use these resources is available in the library before and after school, as well as each lunch time.

Principal’s Reading Challenge

The Principal’s Reading Challenge was launched by Mr Burke last week. Students in Years 4 – 12 are encouraged to participate to earn house points and other prizes. We have added a number of new books to our resources that you can read as part of the challenge.
