From the Teaching and Learning Office

Firstly, many thanks to Rebecca Jarman and Alex Hausen for organizing and hosting the Careers Information Evening last week, and my thanks of course also goes out to the exhibitors and to the parents who went out of their way on a cold winter’s evening in support of our students and their futures. It was encouraging not just to see senior students but also a number of Year 10s in attendance as this is an ideal time for them to discuss with their families what lies ahead in their educational journeys. Just as a note, a reminder email and Eventbrite invitation has gone out to families regarding Year 10 Parent Information Evening on the 11th. If you are a Year 10 parent or carer and didn’t receive the email please let me know.

Also it is worth reminding Year 12 Tertiary students that AST is fast approaching. Along with test preparation sessions held during the Elevated Learning, supplementary sessions are being run by Mr Brady in Room 306 Tuesday mornings from 8.00. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Year 12 AST candidates should also mark August 27th on their calendars for the AST Preparation Day.

Finally, all students have hopefully settled into Term 3 well and are establishing effective study patterns. Unit outlines and assessment schedules should be available via Canvas for all classes and students are strongly encouraged to create an assessment preparation planner. If you are having any trouble with finding out assessment dates or with Canvas in general, please let me know.
