Greenhouse for HOME

Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” – Matthew 22:37-39

Last Friday our Year 12 Construction class, Mr Watson and Mr Zarb journeyed out to HOME in Queanbeyan to assist in completing a greenhouse that our staff had begun on the staff service day at the end of last term. This greenhouse will enable people living there to grow a garden, plant and cultivate flowers and have a space to care for various flora out of the extreme Canberra weather. It is in giving that we receive and the St Edmund’s staff and students worked tirelessly and humbly together to see this important project complete. Special thanks to all staff and students who contributed to its construction.

Hosting Ipswich Flexi School

The College is hosting the Ipswich Flexi School in our gymnasium over three days this week, commencing from August 18.  It is a great opportunity for these young students from up north to discover and explore Canberra’s national attractions. This also highlights the larger EREA network and the strength of our partner schools in being able to support each other in assisting thousands of young people around our nation gain an education and grow individually and collectively. We wish them safe travels back to Queensland on 21 August and hope that they have enjoyed chilly Canberra for another year.
