Hogan and Jimenez score selection for Tri Nations Tournament

Two promising Eddies students have proved they’ve got what it takes to make it in Rugby Union.

Zane Hogan and Brendan Jimenez are current Year 12 students and have played for and attended St Edmund’s College for many years. Zane is the First XV captain, school captain and plays prop while Brendan fills the role of fullback. Whilst fitting in school, work and training, they also give back to the school by coaching the U11 Rugby Team.

The boys were given the good news recently that they’d been selected to play in the Australian Schoolboys team and compete on the international stage. They earned a spot in the 23-man squad by having a very successful tournament at the State Championships back in July.

Zane and Brendan are currently in Queensland for a two-week camp and will compete in the Tri Nations against Tonga and New Zealand. After the Tri Nations, the final squad will be named to tour the UK in November and December.

Rice and Haydon House are certainly proud to share the success of the young men’s effort and the fine example they are setting for the next generation of rugby boys coming through the ranks at the College.

We wish them all the best for the coming weeks.
