Japanese Speech Contest Success

Congratulations to the Eddies boys who participated in the ACT Secondary Japanese Speech Competition, held at Alfred Deakin High School on Saturday, August 4.  It was an excellent opportunity to showcase their Japanese language skills and the students selected to compete had been working hard on their speeches since last term. Special thanks must go to Patrick Burns and Tim Brunton of year 11, who provided additional assistance with editing and helped our younger students practice their speeches. On the day the students come up against very tough competition from schools around Canberra, but they delivered their speeches without a hint of nerves and impressed everyone with their fluency, enthusiasm and confidence of delivery. Connor Moloney (Year 7) achieved the fantastic result of 2nd in his division. It was an excellent event and we hope to see another strong showing from the College next year.
