Junior School News: Week 3, Term 3, 2020

Although Saturday just past at St Edmund’s was a very quiet day in terms of spectators, it was great to hear that our boys enjoyed playing Marist and other teams at their home ground. I have heard from team managers and coaches that behaviour was exemplary and I have congratulated and praised Junior School students for this. It was also good to tune in to the live stream of the 1st and 2nd XV matches on Saturday afternoon.

Year 5 Camp Update – Sadly we have had to cancel the Year 5 camp this year. An email was sent to parents and carers last week. Ms Cusack and Mr Bell are working on a school-based program that will run on Tuesday 18 August and Wednesday 19 August. All Year 5 students will be able to wear casual clothes on these two days.

Homework Club – I will be running homework club this term on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. Please email me dkelly@stedmunds.act.edu.au with a day’s notice should you wish to book your son/s in.

Moderation Day 2, Thursday 20 August – Please note that as per the school calendar this is a pupil-free day. Teachers will be involved in professional learning in the area of Literacy education.

Ordering from the Canteen – Students need to place a lunch order for hot food. This can be done on the Eddies Dashboard. From early next week orders will only be processed if payment is made online at the time of ordering. Also, there has been an increase in the amount of students buying excessive amounts of lollies from the canteen. Please have a chat to your son about making healthy, balanced choices at the canteen.
