Junior School News: Week 4, Term 2, 2019

This week information about our College Walkathon has been released. Students have voted on what they would like funds raised to go towards around the College. Some of our senior school leaders will also speak to our students at Friday’s Junior School assembly. The College Walkathon will occur in Term 3, Week 2. Junior School students will walk down to the lake from school and we will walk to the National Library before turning around and heading back to school.

It was lovely to see so many Junior School parents at the Blue and White Ball on Friday night. I am sure you will agree that the speeches and videos on the night really reflected the school’s ethos and traditions. It was a wonderful celebration of 65 Years as a College.

Congratulations to our Year 5 Balloon Car Race Winner, Thomas Keillor. Thomas created a machine that was fast and reliable. Well done to all of the students, there were many great designs. Participation in this event is always a highlight for our year 5 students.

Our Year 6 students enjoyed their excursion to Old Parliament House on Monday. Teachers were very positive in their praise for the students’ engagement and behaviour on the day.

South Weston Cross Country – Monday 3 June. Congratulations to the boys who were selected to represent St Edmund’s at the South Weston Cross Country carnival. Mr Fox will lead this excursion and more information will come out to those selected later this week.

Just a reminder that Monday 27 May is a Public Holiday and there will be no school at St Edmund’s on this day. If you are heading away for the long weekend, stay safe and enjoy the break.
