Junior School News: Week 4, Term 3, 2018

With Science week upon us, we are asking the Junior School to embrace the theme of ‘game changers and change makers.’

With the 200th Anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the 40th anniversary of the birth of the first IVF baby and as it is the international year of the Reef, we are embracing the idea within the Junior School of innovation and change for the better.

Spot competitions will be offered through the week to support the theme, but if you would like to find out more about National Science week visit the website:

Sebastian Beitzel returns triumphant!

Following a tour of Europe competing in Road Bike racing, Sebastian has come back to Eddies with a smile and a few trophies! The racing largely took place in the Netherlands. Sebastian’s favourite trophy is the one he won for the International Junior Tour which lasted six days and he placed 15th out of 53.

Great work Sebastian!

Book Week 2018

A note will be coming home with details for book week. We will be holding a costume parade on Friday 24 August in the Hall from 9.30am – 10.15am.

Quicksmart/MacqLit Instructors Wanted

We are really happy with how our numeracy and literacy support programs are progressing. At the moment we have a few dedicated volunteers who help keep these programs running. We would love to open up these programs to more students if possible. If you are interested (or any grandparents) in assisting with Literacy (anytime) or Numeracy (Mon/Tues 11.30am – 12.45pm) please contact Leonie Owens – lowens@stedmunds.act.edu.au

Homework Club

Mrs Ellem will be running Homework Club from Weeks 2-9 this term on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Please email her hellem@stedmunds.act.edu.au with a day’s notice should you wish to book your son/s in, along with the work you would like your son to work on.
