Junior School News: Week 4, Term 3, 2020

This Friday we will celebrate students who have been working well in class with the presentation of academic awards. Normally we would have these presented at a Junior School assembly although in the current climate these will be celebrated in smaller, year-based assemblies. Unfortunately at this time parents/carers will not be able to attend. Award winners will be named in next week’s Junior School News.

Statement of Eddies Pride – Last Friday students worked on bringing the newly launched, ‘Statement of Eddies Pride’ to life by discussing how each element of the statement can be put into action. Our Junior School leaders have already done some work in this space and now the whole Junior School has had an opportunity to have input. We will be creating a video to demonstrate what it means to have Eddies Pride and the contents of this video will have come directly from student feedback.

Junior School Language Offerings and BYOD Survey – Thank you to parents/carers who have been able to complete a quick survey related to the possible expansion of language offerings and a proposed move to include Year 6 in our whole school BYOD program. At the time of writing we have already received many responses and excellent feedback. Here is the link if you haven’t already been able to complete the survey. Average response time is listed at two minutes so it doesn’t have to take long. We will close the survey on Friday.

Year 5 Camp – Although our Year 5 camp had to be cancelled, the students will have a two day program next week (Tuesday 18 August and Wednesday 19 August) at school. Mr Bell and Ms Cusack have created a fun and engaging program and students may wear mufti clothes on these two days.

Moderation Day (Pupil Free Day) – Please note that Thursday 20 August is a pupil free day. Teachers will be involved in professional learning on this particular day.
