Junior School News: Week 7, Term 3, 2018

The Father’s Day mass celebrated in the Junior School last Friday was a very special event. With the chapel full there was an air of quiet solidarity. Thank you to all who were able to attend on Friday to share in this celebration. The boys were reminded to say thank you and to pray for their father, grandfather, step-father or uncle.  I hope all the father figures in our community were surrounded by lots of love on Sunday and many fun activities were enjoyed. Thank you to Bridget Cusack for all of her organisation of this event. Congratulations also to Bridget and her team of Year 6 students (who joined students from the secondary school) who slept in the gym on Friday night to raise awareness and funds for the House in Queanbeyan and Karinya House.

South Weston Athletics Carnival Thursday 6 September – Good luck to all participants in our St Edmund’s team.

This Friday 7 September we have a mufti day for our India Immersion trip fundraiser. Students are encouraged to bring in a gold coin and may wear non-offensive, neat casual clothes for the day. They can also order a pizza by bringing in $10 by Thursday.

Good luck to all teams who have their final round (football) or grand finals (rugby union) this weekend. We have pushed the message all week to win or lose with grace. Thank you for reinforcing this message at home.

Gnomes at Floriade – look out for our Gnomes, expertly painted by our Year 6 students. They will be placed in the gnome area on Sunday 16 September.
