Junior School News: Week 9, Term 3, 2019

Junior School News Term 3 Week 9

This week our Junior School leaders helped the staff at Narrabundah Early Childhood School to run their athletics carnival. It was a wonderful opportunity for St Edmund’s students to help out in their local community and we were very grateful for this leadership opportunity. The behaviour of the students was outstanding. A big thank you to Mr Roberts for assisting with this excursion.

Cricket – Training began this week for most of our junior teams although some training’s have been cancelled due to inclement weather. Please discuss a plan B with your son should weather cause a late cancellation to training. If you are interested in finding out more about St Edmund’s cricket please email Andrew Taylor ataylor@stedmund.act.edu.au

Gnomes at Floriade – Look out for our Gnomes, expertly painted by our Year 6 students. They have been placed in the gnome area for your viewing pleasure. Year 6 parents/carers – please note the gnomes will be packed up and brought back to school for your son to take home early next term.

Year 4/5 Mass – Today we held a Year 4/5 Mass in the Chapel. Fr Dan and Fr Rem focused on an instructional Mass which helped our boys understand different parts of the Mass.

Junior School Assembly on Friday 20 September at 11.30am – Please join us in the hall to celebrate recent academic achievements of Junior School students. Unfortunately due to a clash of events, we will be missing quite a few of our Year 4 students who will be participating in a tennis competition at Canberra Grammar School. We wish them all the best.

Term Three Progress Reports and Parent/Teacher evening – reports are now available through the parent portal. Please note that parent/teacher meetings are occurring tomorrow evening (Thursday 19 September) in Junior School classrooms.

Homework Club – Please note there is no homework club until Term 4.
