Junior School News: Week 9 Term 3, 2021

I trust all of the fathers, grandfathers and other male role models in our community had a good day on Sunday. Although it would have been difficult to celebrate Father’s Day this year I am sure there were many nice family lunches with a special focus on the men in our lives. To those in our communities that have lost a father our thoughts are with you at this time. Normally we have quite the celebration for Father’s Day at school with a Father’s Day Mass but this year that was replaced with some great videos by our Junior School boys and a social media service on Sunday. Thank you to all the boys who contributed to the Father’s Day video and service.

Parent/Teacher Interviews – Please note these interviews have been postponed unit early next term. More information regarding how/when/if these go ahead will be provided once we have a clear outline of back-to-school protocols.

St Edmund’s Sleepout for Solidarity – Friday 3rd September should have been a mufti day and the annual Eddies Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for Karinya House and Home in Queanbeyan. Even though we are in an online world, the Junior School students still stopped and thought about those in our community who are homeless. A very big thank you to all those students who completed the activity to identify how through prayer, donations and time we can help those who are in need. An extra big thank you to those boys who did a Covid-style sleepout at home, you are amazing.
