Mother’s Day Reflection

The young men of St Edmund’s from Year 4 to Year 12 were asked this question

“What does it take to be a mum and significant woman in the life of an Eddies boy?”

This is what they said:

  • She tells me my dreams will come true
  • Buys food if I am starving
  • She just knows
  • She says “When I get home your room better sparkle”
  • She finds my stuff
  • She says “Do your homework”
  • Encourages me to be what I want to be
  • She says “No you can’t have McDonald’s”
  • She has faith and trust in me
  • She says help your sister, don’t hit your brother
  • She picks up and delivers bags that don’t make it to the bus
  •  She says how did you go on your spelling test (I always say 20/20)
  • She shows love and compassion to get up early on a Saturday morning for sport
  • She is resilient to my bad behaviour
  • She is magic
  • She is beautiful
  • She laughs at my jokes
  • She doesn’t judge me
  • She takes a deep breath every time she watches me play sport in case I get injured
  • She makes me a better man
  • She loves me till the world ends.

To our mothers, grandmothers and special women in our lives thank you for being our centre, our guides, our everything. We think you are super, and we thank God you are ours.
