PE goes Online!

During the recent online learning phase, the Health and Physical Education department continued to challenge the boys physically through a number of weekly activity sessions and online challenges.  All students in Year 7-10 had the opportunity to participate in the Healthy Household Challenge where they were tasked to develop, conduct and participate in workouts using body weight or items that could be found around the house.  Taking this task further some boys challenged their siblings and parents in some friendly household rivalry.  This was a great opportunity for students to remain active whilst being isolated from their chosen sport, co-curricular activities or gyms.

Another great initiative was the Year 10 daily Strava Challenge.  Year 10 students were challenged to compete against each other in a virtual classroom based on the amount of steps they took daily.  Under the innovative eye of Ms Lowe, Year 10 students participated in daily activity using their Strava App and then uploaded their workout to their class Canvas page.  Students were competing against each other in different categories.  This was a fantastic opportunity for boys to remain active but still in a competitive environment.

The Health and Physical Education department would like to thank all families and students that participated in these challenges and took advantage of what was an extremely difficult situation.
