Sleepout for HOME in Queanbeyan and Karinya House

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ – Matthew 25:35-36

As a Catholic school, we seek to live out the Gospel message and that is to care for our neighbour and share in the Good News. It is in our neighbours that we experience Christ, especially those who are outcast and broken. This Friday from 7pm to 7am Saturday, St Edmund’s College is hosting a Sleepout to raise money and awareness for the homelessness in Australia. The boys involved will be raising money for two organisations which we as a College support: HOME in Queanbeyan and Karinya House. Both of these organisations work with the most vulnerable of our society.

Boys from year 6 to 12 are invited to attend our School Gymnasium from 7pm and donate at least $10. They will listen to the life stories of people affected by homelessness- its causes and consequences.

Permission slips can be collected from the Religious Education Office or below.

Check out some of the amazing work done by these organisations:
