Supporting families to form young men of vibrant spirit and strong character
Our Mission at St Edmund’s College is to build young men of vibrant spirit and strong character. The ways we do this include our strong House system, the Formation Program, service opportunities and of course the work we do in forming positive relationships every day. We also support families to support their sons.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding and empowering our students, as well as assisting our parents in supporting their young people, we have engaged the resources of an Australian organisation called ySafe to provide a program for both Years 7 and 8 as well as host a parent information evening on the 11th June at 6pm in the Edmund Rice Centre. This term also sees the return of some House based fundraising for the College. House captains and Year 11 and 12 leaders have been striving to out do each other with their creative fundraising events. Currently the Rice House Café is in full swing and later in the week the O’Brien House team will hold a Mario Kart competition at lunchtime as well as selling Hotdogs. Clancy House got in early with their BBQ and Treacy’s events including the Jersey Day in Week 5 have been remarkably successful. Haydon House and Mulrooney House are next and that will take us right up to senior exams and the end of the term.
All these events add to the spirit of the College and its everyday life. We encourage everyone to get involved in these events this term.
