Term 1 Comes to a Close

With the wrapping up of Term 1 and the easing of restrictions for schools in the ACT, College life is coming back to normal. Just this past Wednesday we had our first full school assembly in what seems like months, this assembly marks just the first step to getting back into that normal life back in the College. This assembly has really brought the College community back together as one cohort and to celebrate some of the junior school award winners for Term 1 and for our Principal Mr Zavone to be able to address everyone as a whole. With the restrictions easing it opens many opportunities for the school to partake in activities that we prohibited for most of Term 1, things such as the buddy program, weekly house meetings and even swimming and sports carnivals for everyone in the College to look forward to in Term 2.

Week 9 marks the second week of the Year 11 and 12 touch football contest which is headed into the final round in Week 10. With the restrictions easing for cohorts the College leadership team are going to focus on making competitions for all age groups to participate in and help encourage that house spirit that the boys have brought to the touch football contest. This will also help us raise money for our Term two project which is for the school, this initiative helps the boys raise money for their school and show pride in helping improve the school.

The hot topic around the school now is the newest piece of the uniform, the new school puffer jackets. As orders start being processed, they are being seen all throughout the hallways and quadrangle. The puffer jackets are being well received by all and we all fully expect them to be worn for many years to come for all year groups, even the Year 12’s after they finish this year.

Term 1 has flown by for a lot of us here at school, but I want all the boys to remember to be keeping on top of their class work and getting started early on those holiday assignments. We still got one week to go till holidays so keep up the hard work and push till the finish line this Friday and look forward to the two week break before Term 2.

Thank you and Edmunds to the Fore.
