Term 4 Up and Running

During Term 3 and 4, lockdown as an outcome of COVID 19 has placed its required impositions on us all. During this time the College came further together in a wonderful way with a special emphasis on care for each other and resilience. Many times our staff put themselves in the front line to serve our students and sometimes at the expense of their own family and personal needs. As per usual, the student community responded positively and graciously. This is significant and requires acknowledgment to all.

Mental health in young men continues to influence the agenda of any institution that concerns itself with their care. St Edmund’s is very aware of such issues. It is our continued aim to provide our students with adequate coping skills, increased levels of resilience so as provide a buffer against many of the destructive influences that cause poor mental health and impact upon wellbeing. Going in to Term 4 and beyond – our initiatives promoting the awareness of mental health and wellbeing will be further designed to upskill teachers, parents and students on successful strategies for cultivating wellbeing will remain a priority.

Many Year 12 students  came back to classes this week. It was good to see the College alive again and to hear the banter and good spirits very much alive in the boys who are back “onsite”. We look forward to welcoming others Year groups back as per set guidelines in the near future.
