Vinnies Doorknock 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Saturday 16 February, St Edmund’s College students, staff and broader community will be taking part in the St Vincent de Paul Door Knock Appeal.

As you may be aware, the College has had a long standing relationship with St Vincent de Paul and, as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, we strive to foster and develop within all our students an understanding of what it means to live out that legacy. A legacy that focuses on putting our faith into action and being present and supporting those who are on the margins of our society.

The Door Knock Appeal commences at 9.00am at St Benedict’s Catholic Church Narrabundah and goes for approximately 2-3 hours concluding with a BBQ at the Parish hall. At 9.00am there will be a morning briefing where participants will be informed of protocols and procedures associated with the Door Knock Appeal.

Students 16 years of age or older will be in pairs and provided with a map of a certain area within the suburbs of Narrabundah and Griffith to door knock.  Students under the age of 16 will be asked to be accompanied by one of their parents/guardians.

We strongly encourage all students within the College to get involved in the day. Permission slips need to be returned to the Religious Education office in the High School or Ms Cusack in the Junior School by Thursday 14th of February.

We thank you in advance for your support in assisting the holistic development of your son’s formation with us here at St Edmund’s. If there are any other questions please do not hesitate to email mmonagle@stedmunds.act.edu.au.

Last year we raised $2333 with approximately 25 volunteers and we would love to match or better this in 2019.

Yours sincerely,

Michal Monagle

Assistant Principal – Mission and Identity
