Junior School News: Week 4, Term 2, 2018

At last week’s Junior School assembly, I spoke with students and parents about what makes St Edmund’s such a great place to be. Of course, the staff are terrific people but it is the boys who actually make this such a wonderful place. I proudly tell people where I work and about why Eddies boys are such great young men. A true Eddies boy is a boy who is humble, serves others by striving to help those at the margins, is respectful, displays excellent manners and strives to achieve his personal best.

Next week is our College Walkathon on Thursday 31 May. We are looking forward to this day. Junior School students will walk from school down to the lake and to the National Library before turning around and heading back to school. The canteen will be open and boys may wear casual clothes for the whole day. We have many great prizes up for grabs. Those who raise $30 will go into the draw for some great gift vouchers or a remote control vehicle. Every $30 raised earns another spot in the draw. We also have individual and class prizes for the most amount of money raised, including extra Woodwork, PE and Coding classes, no homework passes and other incentives. Please get behind our Walkathon and help us raise funds to make our Hall a great space for future lessons, assemblies and performances for many years to come.

South Weston Cross Country – Monday 4 June. Congratulations to the boys who were selected to represent St Edmund’s at the South Weston Cross Country carnival. Mr Fox will lead this excursion.

If you are heading away for the long weekend, enjoy. If you are heading to the Blue and White Ball, like many of the Junior School staff, we look forward to catching up.
