Welcome back to Term 3. I hope that the time away from school was restful and that students are ready to get back into action. There are a number of key events on in Term 3 to be aware of, so please note these on your calendars and be sure to contact me if you have any questions.
For all students, Parent Teacher interviews will be held in Week 9, September 7th and 8th. Parents will sign-on to the meetings through the portal as per usual with more information to follow closer to the date. Also for all students, there will be a Careers Information Evening held on Thursday 29 July in the College hall from 5.30pm – 7.30 pm. While in the past the majority of attendees have been Year 10, 11 and 12 students, this event is open to all Eddies families and is a great way to find out more about different career options and to ask questions directly to the experts.
For Year 10 students, along with the Careers Information event we will hold a Year 10 specific Parent Information Evening on Wednesday 11 August in the College Hall from 6.00 – 7.30. Information will be presented regarding the BSSS system and key pathways and choices that Year 10 students and their families should be aware of and discussing. It will also of course allow you to ask questions. If you’re not experienced with the ACT system for Year 11 and 12, I strongly encourage you to attend. This evening will precede the Year 10 Transition to Year 11 Interviews that will be held throughout the day on August 23rd in the Edmund Rice Centre. Please note that Year 10 students will not attend classes on this day.
Finally, for Year 12 Tertiary students, the key event for the term is of course the AST. Sessions One and Two, the Short Response and Multiple Choice Tests, will be held on Tuesday, August 31st. Session Three, the Writing Task, will be held on Wednesday the 1st of September. For students who miss the first sitting, the Second Sitting will occur October 12th and 13th.
