50 Wickets in Club Cricket for Shenal
Year 10 student Shenal Rajapakse marked an excellent milestone in his career by claiming his 50th wicket in Men’s Premier Grade Cricket earlier this month. As of last week, Shenal has claimed 52 wickets at an average of 14.7.
Shenal began playing Men’s Grade Cricket for Eastlake Cricket Club two years ago at the age of 13. He started from 5th Grade and was moved to the 4th Grade the same year. He was adjudged the Best 3rd Grade Bowler last year.
Shenal plays 2nd Grade this season and also played three 1st Grade matches. On debut in first grade, he claimed 4 wickets for 17 runs. Shenal was also involved in a record unbeaten 72-run partnership for the 10th wicket in the 2nd Grade game, Eastlake Vs Ginninderra, last weekend.
Shenal is also a top performer for our first XI and as a year 10 student we look forward to seeing his achievements over the coming seasons.
