Snow Sports Camp

Last week, 16 boys from the college went on a 4 camp to Perisher ski fields, as part of an interschools competition, where the boys would compete in a variety of different races, on their skis and snowboards. Unfortunately, due to COVID, the competitions this year were postponed. Nonetheless, we still decided to go ahead with the trip and have a great time on the slopes, with the recent snowfall making for an even better time.

We had a good mix of boys from year 6-12 attend the trip, some with lots of experience on the snow, and some boys who had never skied or boarded before. With near perfect conditions for most of the trip, it was a good opportunity for all the boys to develop and practice their skills for future snow trips, and upcoming events.

During the trip, we had the privilege of meeting Olympic snowboarder Adam Lambert. He talked to all the boys about how he came to be an Olympic snowboarder, and how he competed in numerous world championships over the past several years. He gave us good tips and advice on how to improve ourselves at skiing and boarding, and spoke about the importance having goals and sticking to them.

Thank you to Mr Macarthur, Ms Rose, and Mr Monagle for supporting the team throughout the week to have an enjoyable, and memorable time.
