Football Training and Season Information

It is that time of year again! The 2019 Football Season is around the corner and we have some changes regarding registration and some exciting opportunities this year.

Training – an update

Training commences for the following teams this week (week 6)

U12: Wednesday

U15: Thursday

OPENS: Tuesday and Thursday

Where will this happen?

Boys will get changed and meet in the Quad and then they will be collected by their coach

 

What do the boys need to bring to training?

  • Soccer boots (joggers are also okay, but it would be great for them to take their boots for a test drive)
  • Shin pads – these are really important, even at training
  • Water bottle
  • Snack for after school to help provide energy to have before training

Coaching- Help Needed Please!

We would be grateful for any parent who is interested in coaching to please contact me as soon as possible. We are looking for coaches to assist in U13, U14 and U16s teams.

Our season commences the first week back of term 2! SATURDAY May 4th will be our first game. The draw is yet to be released.

Uniform

We provide jerseys every match but the boys will require white shorts and socks (available from the school uniform shop) as well as shin pads and soccer boots. These boots cannot have metal studs on them.

 

Pre-season games

MARSEC

We will be participating in MARSEC this year- Marist vs St Edmund’s College annual tournament.

This year it will occur on April 28th (The last Sunday of the school holidays). More information is to come from Marist and this will be sent home to all teams involved.

Stella Lighting Tournament – NEW!

Another opportunity held by Woden Weston Wanderers will be Saturday 13th and 14th of April. This will be open to the coaches and managers of teams to discuss with their boys and we will nominate teams who are keen! This would be a fantastic opportunity for our Eddies Blues teams to shine!

When you begin you will be asked to select the football type, please select “community” and follow the prompts from there.

If your details are already with ‘Play football’ from last year, it will identify your account which is great! Once registered you will have the option to update your contact details or any other information you need.

Online registrations are due by Friday this week.
