Junior School News: Week 10, Term 3, 2019

As we near the end of Term 3 we can reflect on all the achievements, events, activities, learning experiences and enjoyment from our first three terms of school for 2019. I must say a huge congratulations to the Junior School students who have accepted the challenge to make this school such a great place to be. They are building a wonderful spirit and developing their character in a pleasing fashion.

Last Wednesday we held an instructional Mass for Year 4 and Year 5 students. Fr Rembert and Fr Dan were present to deliver this important Mass. Well done to Ms Cusack for her organisation and to Mrs Thomas for assisting with the music.

Our Term 3 reports were available online last week. Please use these reports to discuss learning goals with your son and to help guide discussions with him about his academic progress. Hopefully many of you took the final formal opportunity for 2019 to meet with your son’s teacher at last Thursday’s parent/teacher interviews. If you would like to meet with your son’s teacher during Term 4 at any stage, please feel free to email them to set up a time.

Thank you to Mrs Ellem who will begin her maternity leave after Friday. At our Junior School assembly last Friday we were able to say a formal farewell which was lovely. Mrs Ellem is an amazing teacher who has given so much to our school. We wish her all the best in welcoming her second child.

Just a reminder that Homework club is not running this week and will recommence in Week 2 of Term 4.

All the best for those families going away over the break. For those staying close to home…hopefully we can enjoy some nice weather.

David Kelly (Assistant Principal – Junior School)
