Junior School News: Week 8, Term 2, 2018

As we head towards the end of term two the word ‘busy’ seems to be constant from staff, students and parents as we immerse ourselves in co-curricular or various weekend sporting activities without a worry of the Canberra chill that surrounds us. It was a pleasure to attend a few games of rugby and football on the weekend. From my point of view, the boys played with a sense of spirit and sportsmanship, which is so important. A special mention to all the parents, volunteers, staff and students who put their hand up in various capacities – a big thank you.

Woodwork Coming Home

Keep a lookout in your son’s bag for creations from woodwork classes. Year 4 students have been working on spinning toys, where they have learned to use the drill. Year 5 students will be bringing home boomerangs, shaped and coloured expertly by themselves. Year 6 students have been working hard this term, learning how to use Adobe Illustrator in order to create awesome clocks. We were all over the moon when the first set worked in the laser cutter.

Junior School Assembly

Thank you to those parents and grandparents able to make last week’s assembly. There was a great feeling amongst the boys and we celebrated many achievements, academic, sporting and cultural. A highlight for me was Mr Bell’s annual balloon car trials video.
