Mulrooney swims to the Championship

A recap of the 2021 Senior Swimming Carnival

After a disrupted sporting calendar in 2020 due to Covid-19, the first carnival for 2021 took place with the St Edmund’s College Senior Swimming Carnival being held on Friday 5 March.  Leading into the day, Treacy House under the watchful eye of Ms Gair were looking at winning an unprecedented 12th straight swimming carnival.  All the talk in the lead up was how Ms Gair and the Treacy House swimmers were firing on all cylinders.  It looked like the fight was over before it began.  However, as soon as budgy smugglers entered the pool it was clear a new sheriff was in town. The boys from Mulrooney House took the challenge head on and were prepared to go the distance.  Ever since Ms Manenica took over the Head of House role Mulrooney has looked like a new beast.  Rather than flapping around in the shallow end, Mulrooney rose to the challenge and came out victorious breaking the heart of Ms Gair and Treacy House.  When asked about the victory Ms Manenica replied “I challenged the boys at the start of the year.  Be the best you can in all aspect of life.  Whether that be in the classroom or out on the sporting field achieve what you are able to achieve”.

With the Age Championship races being some of the most competitive in recent years a huge congratulations must go to the following boys who were awarded Age Champions for the respective year group.
