Nagasaki Nanzan College visit in 2019

In March 2019, we will welcome another group from Nagasaki Nanzan College. This will be the 4th visit from Nanzan College and we appreciate all the efforts that families in our school community have made to host these guests and make them feel welcome at St Edmund’s.

We are now looking for families who can volunteer to host a student or two in 2019. The dates we are looking at are between March 14 and 22. During this period the group will travel to Broulee for 2 nights, so there will be a little break during the stay. We will arrange activities for the students at school and they can travel to school by bus, car or on foot with their host brother. The weekend, when they are visiting, is typically a busy weekend of events in Canberra like Skyfire, the balloon festival, and Vivid, so it is easy to find something to do.

In order to host, it is an ACT government requirement that all people staying in the household aged 16 years or over have a WWVP card (WWCC for NSW residents). It is fairly straightforward and there is no cost for volunteers to apply for these cards, however, they can take a long time to process so it is important to start the process early. If you are able to host, please complete this form: https://goo.gl/forms/E5aFV4K8eiGlGboY2 and we will get in touch with you.

Thank you to all those considering this request and everyone who has hosted in the past. It is a wonderful experience for our visitors and would not be possible without your assistance.
