No Place Like Home
Last weekend we had a massive home round in football. While our mighty U14 Whites were representing on away grounds, all other teams were on the Eddies pitch. We also had a massive amount of help from the Football community in running a bake sale and sausage sizzle. Thank you to all parents who baked cupcakes, cookies, muffins, slices and lolly cups! All of these foods were able to sustain a crowd and our boys. A special thanks to Andrea McCallion for running the show behind the BBQ, from set up to pack up! Also a thanks to the Augur family who not only baked for the day but also took our sales to the sideline – thanks to Blake and Maddy!
It truly was a wonderful community event so thank you so much for all that you have given to St Edmund’s Football.
Here are some reflections from the weekend
“We have a very talented team of young men in the U14 Blues who outplayed the opposition resulting in a 10-1 victory. Well done boys. “
“Fantastic game of football this afternoon by the u14 Blues solidifying their position on top of the ladder with a 10-1 win over Gungahlin at Eddie’s. Starting the game with no subs and playing the majority of the second half with 10 players the boys controlled the tempo and flow of the game and limited the possession of the opposition. Excellent team work and accurate passing had Gungahlin on the back foot from the start. Captain Jazz scored his first goal of the season with a fantastic finish, with Ronan sneaking in a great shot inside the post. The rest of the scoring was left to Tony and Harry with 4 each. Fantastic effort all round boys”
“Well done to the BBQ crew & bakers today – Great effort from Football community”
