Returning to Learning

Showing resilience and engagement

The return to at school learning was a great start to the week. Not without its challenges though. As I spoke with the Year 7s of O’Brien House on Monday morning I reminded them that the change of pace from home learning back to at school learning might be a challenge for them. Moving back to regularly scheduled breaks and lunchtimes from what may have been a much more relaxed approach at home has tended to prove a bit exhausting for a few of our students. Alternatively, many boys have been positively buzzing with energy, delighted to see their friends and peers after so many weeks away. Generally speaking the boys have adapted well to the changes we have had to put in place and I commend them on their resilience and adaptability.

For many of our younger students it might feel like the term is nearly over but there is plenty of learning time left and teachers are eager to see students well prepared for next year. Students should be aware that after-school tutoring in the library has been able to recommence as of this week and this provides opportunity to access a learning space and staff who are there to assist. Hopefully we will all be able to power through the rest of the year, keeping up our high levels of resilience and engagement.
