Road Ready Course – August 2018

Dear Parents/ Guardians

The College is pleased to be able to provide students in Year 9, 10 and 11 with the opportunity to participate in Road Ready. This course is something all people wishing to apply for their Learner’s Licence in the A.C.T must participate in and pass, before they can continue with the process of obtaining their Learner’s licence. Obviously, Students who are close to 16 years of age or over will get priority and will find the most relevance in the course.

The course facilitators are ex teacher’s of St Edmund’s College and are offering a discounted rate. They believe as many students as possible should be exposed to the practicalities and responsibilities that come with owning and driving a vehicle; however, emphasis is placed on road rules, road safety and risk taking. With this in mind, we are opening the course up to students who live in N.S.W also as we consider any exposure to this type of education is invaluable.

The course will run on Wednesday 15th August and Wednesday 22nd August 2018 from 3:30pm-5:00 pm at the College in room G4 (above the College Gym).

Students will need to register their interest with Ms Gair (Head of House Office) and the costs are detailed below:

A.C.T students – $100 – includes course, test and documentation to provide to government shopfront

N.S.W students – $50- includes course (N.S.W does not provide any Road Ready or equivalent course)

A.C.T students who have completed course previously, but did not pass the exam – Free
