Visit from Nanzan College in Nagasaki, Japan

From March 15 – 23 we welcomed 19 students and 2 teachers from Nanzan College in Nagasaki ,Japan. This was the third year in a row that we have welcomed Nanzan.

During their stay they undertook a day of classes at school, enjoyed a weekend with their homestay families, made a trip to the Coast for surfing and stand up paddle boarding, and also participated in our sports day. This could only have been possible thanks to the many families who generously opened their homes to host a student. The families who hosted provided the Japanese students with an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.

I hope the new friendships that were made can be continued and perhaps even rekindled one day on a return trip to Japan. My deepest thanks goes to all the homestay families who hosted and also several families who offered to host but were not able to get their WWVP cards in time. The exchange offers wonderful possibilities and it is great to get such terrific support from the school community.

We will be recruiting again for 2019 around the beginning of Term 4, so please keep it in mind if you are interested.
