Homestay family request

We are still looking for homestay families to host students from Nagasaki Nanzan College from March 15 – 24. The students from Japan will go to Broulee for 2 nights during their stay, so it will be a total of 6 nights hosting. If you are able to host a student or two or would like more information, please contact Andrew Taylor: antaylor@stedmunds.act.edu.au

Lost Property

Just a friendly reminder to all Parents and Guardians – please ensure that all of your son’s belongings (all items of uniform, bags, hats, etc) are clearly labelled with your son’s full name. This will ensure items that come to Lost Property are returned to your son as soon as possible.

Student pick up and College visit procedures

Are you picking up your son from College during the school day?

If you are picking up your son from College during the school day, perhaps because he is unwell or has an appointment, you will need to sign them out at the main Reception desk. This is an important step to ensure that your son has correctly signed out and been collected from school.

When visiting the College

If you are visiting the College you are asked to report to Reception so you can sign-in as a visitor. Please do not go directly to Student Services, the Junior School Reception or another area of the College unless you have been to Reception and signed-in. This ensures the College is aware of and able to track all visitors to the College and is essential for providing a safe environment for students and staff.

If you need to collect your child or would like to drop something off for them you will not need to sign-in but should still report to Reception.

If your child needs to leave early (due to an appointment, illness or other reason)

If your child needs to leave the College early due to a planned appointment or event, we ask that they:

  • provided a note from their parent/carer explaining the circumstances around the leave
  • sign out at Student Services (students in Years 7-12) just before they need to leave; and
  • then report to Reception to be picked up. (Seniors that have permission to make their own way to the appointment can leave from Student Services).

If your child is feeling unwell, they report to Student Services (students in years 7-12) or the Junior School Reception desk (students in years 4-6). You will be contacted if your child is not well enough to stay at school. Students must not contact their parent directly without reporting to Student Services or the Junior School Reception.

If your child needs to leave due to an unplanned or forgotten appointment or event, we ask that you contact the College as soon as possible. Please understand that if we do not have advance warning that your son is leaving early, it will take several minutes for him to be located and brought to Reception, possibly longer.

Lastly, please remember that if your son is being picked up from College during the school day, the person collecting the child will also need to sign the ‘Collection Sheet’ at the main Reception desk.
