Eddie’s is Ready to Rock!

It has been an outstanding start to the 2024 school year with our Co-Curricular Creative and Performing Arts students engaging in multiple projects and collaborations across the community.

School of Rock!
School of Rock is one month away from premiering on the Br RJ Wallace Hall stage.  We are thrilled to present to you a show that celebrates the transformative power of music, friendship, and self-discovery.
Based on the Mike White Film, “School of Rock” tells the story of Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck musician who finds himself posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. What follows is a rock ‘n’ roll rollercoaster ride as Dewey inspires his students to embrace their inner rock stars and compete in the Battle of the Bands.
One of the key themes of “School of Rock” is the idea that nothing is impossible if you have the passion and determination to pursue your dreams. This message resonates deeply with audiences of all ages, reminding us to never underestimate the power of music to inspire and uplift.
So crank up the volume, grab your air guitar, and get ready to rock out with “School of Rock: The Musical”! Showing on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th May 2024. Tickets are available here. https://events.humanitix.com/school-of-rock-st-edmund-s-college-school-musical

Spectrum Jazz Orchestra Visit
On Tuesday 30 April, we have invited local primary schools to attend the Combined College’s Band and Spectrum Big Band’s International Jazz Day Celebration. Members of Spectrum Big Band will mentor our band students in the morning to provide an educational concert in the afternoon for multiple Catholic Schools in the area.

Rock Band Festival & Battle of the Bands
Save the date for Battle of the Bands – Friday 7 June. This year we are again inviting schools from the Canberra Region to perform in the quad, competing for excellent prizes. The Rock Band Festival on 6-7 June leads into the Battle of the Bands performance, with students across Year 4-12 having the opportunity to work with industry professionals in intensive rehearsals, song writing and ensemble techniques.
