“Let us stand for others always giving generously without counting the cost” SEC College Prayer
Thank you to everyone that contributed to our Social Justice initiatives this term which raised funds and awareness about homelessness. Last Friday, our term focus culminated with our annual sleepout in the gymnasium, a mufti day fundraiser and a visit from the sleep bus. Special thank you to Jacqui and Peter Raby for enabling the sleep bus visit to occur at SEC last Friday and for explaining to our boys and staff about the important work that the sleep bus does. Students have learnt this term of some of the challenges that homelessness brings. As a result, they have “considered how to stir one another to love and good works” Hebrews 10: 24-25. The generosity of our students, their families and friends has simply been remarkable.
The money we raise will goes towards purchasing household furniture for the mothers and babies at Karinya House. HOME in Queanbeyan has requested the money goes towards purchasing healthy food for the resident’s pantry. Thanks again for everyone’s support.
