Interfaith Activities

On Friday 8th November St Edmund’s College hosted the Islamic School of Canberra for their first ever Athletics Carnival.  Through a connection of faith and physical education, St Edmund’s College senior students helped teach students from K-8 the essential skills of an athletics carnival.  The senior Sport and Recreation class taught skills in discus, shot put, javelin and track events to students from over 10 different nationalities.  Throughout the day, students participated in a wide range of events that exposed them to sports and skills they had never participated in before.  The day was such a success that there is already conversations about making it a permanent fixture on the Health and Physical Education calendar.  A huge thanks must be given to the St Clare’s senior Exercise Science students who donated their time to help out during the day.
