Junior School News: Week 1, Term 2, 2020

As we begin another uncertain term, I trust your sons are really keen to get back to some form of normality. A return to face-to-face teaching is the aim this term and we are keen to do this as soon as possible. I don’t want to bore you by listing all of the obstacles but I do want you to know that the College Leadership Team is currently working on the most timely, safe, fair and efficient return to face-to-face teaching as possible under the circumstances. More information about a possible return to face-to-face teaching this term is likely to come out next week. This, of course, depends on information and guidelines we are given, and on local Covid-19 situation updates.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to view the ANZAC Day post from the College through our social media channels. There will also be some media content posted in relation to Mother’s Day and Founder’s Day over the coming weeks which will be well worth viewing.

Covid-19 has felt quite surreal for some and very real for others. No family would have been affected in exactly the same way. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in our community who have been hardest hit. Having an isolated break with my own children helped me see some of the silver linings of this terrible situation; long walks with family, reading more books, mountain biking, connecting with friends and family via video conferencing, more time in the garden, a general slowing of the mind. I hope that you and your family are coping okay at present and that you too find time to appreciate some of the bright spots in this otherwise murky time.

Our online teaching and learning program continues at present. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help support your son or you through this time.
