Junior School News: Week 1 Term 4, 2021

I wish to extend a very warm welcome back to all of our Junior School families. I trust the break was a good chance to spend some time with your son/s and perhaps even a chance to relax with them ahead of the final push for their time in Year 4, Year 5, or Junior School as a whole. Hopefully there was an opportunity to reduce screen time although the wet weather was probably not helpful on that front.

As we begin Term Four we look forward to the return of our students and teachers to onsite learning, albeit in a staggered fashion. As it stands, we will welcome back Year 6 in Week 4 and Year 4 and Year 5 in Week 5. Once the boys do return, we will prioritise the need for them to reconnect with their peers while providing the safest possible environment for all students and teachers. We have had a couple of questions regarding masks. In Junior School, the wearing of masks will be at the discretion of students/parents. Please keep an eye out for ongoing communication from the school in regards to transitioning back to face to face learning.

Term 4 always presents many opportunities for community events and so it will be a challenge for us to provide opportunities to celebrate together whilst still conforming to Covid-safe guidelines. Please know we will do our best under these circumstances. Unfortunately, the Year 4 camp has been cancelled. This will be replaced by a program to run in the final week of school in 2021. This week we have a new student, Luke Williams (5 Blue), starting. We warmly welcome Luke and his older brother Tyler to St Edmund’s.

Virtual Parent/Teacher Interviews – Various dates and times over Weeks 2 and 3. Bookings can be arranged by contacting your son’s class teacher.

Junior School Leadership Opportunities 2022 – Year 5 families please note that you will receive information via email regarding 2022 leadership opportunities that your son may be interested in.
