Mid Semester Checkpoint – How am I travelling in Semester Two?

With the end of winter and the warmer weather starting to creep back we often take stock and reflect on what we would like to improve in our lives. Often this involves a new exercise regime (or reconnection to an earlier attempt), a new hobby or just to spend a little more time with the family. Similarly the end of Term Three offers a fantastic opportunity to reflect on academic efforts and achievement and is a great time to implement new strategies that may see benefits at the end of the year.

In successfully making any change an honest and accurate self-reflection must occur. Over the next two weeks students will be provided a variety of feedback to assist these reflections starting with round two of Application Grades, released on Friday 18 September. Students should also have feedback on Canvas from recent assessment tasks that identify areas of strengths and future improvements.

On Tuesday 22 September the second Parent Teacher Night will take place providing an opportunity to meet with specific teachers and discuss where and how improvement can be made.

Finally each student will receive Progress Reports in Week 10 which are based on completed assessment to date.

Students are encouraged to utilise all of this feedback and undertake a reflection on their learning, asking a few simple questions such as; Am I happy with my achievement in Semester Two so far? Am I applying myself equally in all of my classes? Do I want to improve? If not, why not?

With approximately 10 weeks of classes still to go improvement is there for the taking and the support is available for those willing to take up the challenge.
