It has been a great start to the year for Mulrooney House in 2018. This was evident on our recent House camp at Kianinny, Tathra. They boys were able to make the most of the sunny weather we had on the NSW south coast with a range of outdoor activities. We began with rotations of flying fox, archery and raft building followed by a competitive game of rogaining (orienteering). The second day was spent walking through the local bush learning about various types of native trees.
Afterwards, we spent the morning at Tathra beach for a swim and a milkshake. The final day was left to the Amazing Race before we departed for Canberra. The evenings were spent playing various team games and challenges led by the enthusiastic Mr Masters and of course a movie or two. It was pleasing to see so many of the boys mixing with each other across different age groups and year levels and making sure that no Mulrooney boy was left by himself. A big thank you must go to the instructors Tony and his crew for putting together such a fantastic program for all involved. I would like to thank and acknowledge the tireless work of the Mulrooney tutors: Mr Tim Bibbens, Mr Dave Barrie, Mr Dave Redfern, Mr Trent Masters and Mr Fred Zarb in assisting and getting involved with the boys in all the activities. Your help and support is invaluable.
I look forward to the rest of 2018.
Jonathan Hall (Head of Mulrooney House)
